When we meet together to worship Jesus...

I read a devotional this morning about the power of Christians meeting together regularly to worship Jesus in the same space. In short, when this happens, we recenter our lives around the One worthy of all our praise. It's also a powerful affirmation of what life is about, and well, it's not us.

As the devotional states, when we don't get this right about life, "We place ourselves in the center, we decide for ourselves what we want life to be like, and we reduce God to little more than the delivery system for our catalog of self-oriented dreams."

Ugh. That is a sobering thought, right?

So, to recalibrate us weekly, we, like followers of Jesus all over the world, meet together in large gatherings and small to call us back to the beauty and grace of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! Every time we worship, we declare His kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven!

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!
“For who has known the mind of the Lord,
or who has been his counselor?”
“Or who has given a gift to him
that he might be repaid?”
For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.
