Don't be conformed any longer...but be...
That's a lot of words right? Yet, these are all conveying the single idea of transformation.
According to the Cambridge Dictionary, transformation means "a complete change in the appearance or character of something or someone, especially so that that thing or person is improved:"
I like that idea of 'improved'. We're encouraged in Romans 12:1-2 to embrace a 'Holy Spirit makeover' if you will. Listen to Paul's words to the church in ancient Rome:
So, my dear family, this is my appeal to you by the mercies of God: offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God. That’s what properly thought-out worship looks like. What’s more, don’t let yourselves be squeezed into the shape dictated by the present age. Instead, be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you can work out what God’s will is, what is good, acceptable and complete.
-NT Wright's New Testament for Everyone
I believe TRANSFORMATION is our word for 2024. God is calling us to be transformed in the renewal of the mind so that we can more and more have the mind of Christ - a mind that is focused on loving and serving others! So in 2024, with the time God's given us, let's be redeeming the moments - they are too precious! Allow God's HS to TRANSFORM you into more Jesus-likeness! What is God calling you to do in this season of your life in Christ? What resources, talents, and gifts has God given to you now that you can leverage to bless others?
